10 hours at the airport

As some of you may know, there is a queue system for Grab drivers at KLIA-KLIA2 based on first in first out (FIFO) basis.

The average waiting time is ranging from 3-5 hours. Shorter waiting time on Friday and Sunday as there are more incoming flights during these periods.

Drivers need to wait at 3 designated areas near KLIA namely KLIA Landside, KLIA Downtown, and Mitsui Outlet Park. It’s being tracked using GPS, any driver out of these areas will be out of queue and need to re-queue again.

Imagine I have to wait for 10 hours due to GPS signal issue. As GPS is operated via satellites, certain dead zone in a building will give a signal that you are out of the zone. Did feedback to Grab helpdesk but unfortunately they can’t fo much.

What a long and frustrating day, and what an experience !)

A caring mum gave RM 2.00 as tips

Fetched a working mum at the Kajang MRT station and it was raining. She asked me to dop by and pick up her son from a child care center along the journey which I surely happy to do it.

She is a very gentle lady. I waited her while she pick up her son and continue the journey to her home.

She paid me the fare of RM 6.00 which I normally don’t count as it’s based on trust but I realise after the event that she has gave extra RM 2.00 as tips, wanted to return as she is just from a mid-low income group but unable to locate her through the apps. Will give her a free ride in near future if possible.

5 hours + another xx hours

Today starts well but becoming frustrating from a 3pm event …

I started e-hailing at around 7am. Right before 9am, managed to get a ride from Pavilion Hotel to KLIA. Reached Grab KLIA waiting area at around 10am, my queue was 1401-1500. Then I went for my early lunch before heading to Mitsui Outlet Park to continue waiting for my queue. As I have the Touch n Go eWallet, I get a Starbucks Americano grande at RM 2.50. Taking a break with the coffee while doing some stuff with my laptop.

Every 15-25 minutes I receive notifications on my queue count down and at around 3pm, my queue was 301-350. But at 3:33pm, I received a fresh queue number of 1601-1700. IMAGINE, need to wait for another 3-5 hours again, a total of 8 hours waiting ?? Unbelievable !!

I believe it’s due to a technical issue, which is not a fair treatment to a driver. The customer service’s response is not helping the situation either.

Apart from FRUSTRATING, no other word to say at this point of time ..

When I am 100% cooling down, will try to identify the real root cause that causing this glitch. Otherwise, it might happen again, and happen to other driver who might not highlight this matter.

JPJ for PSV License

JPJ in these following few weeks are crowded with Grab drivers rushing to get their PSV license done after passing the exam before the ultimate JPJ enforcement deadline of 12th Oct.

I went to JPJ Petaling Jaya branch around 3:30pm but the queue number had been run out, meaning have to come back the next day.

But I drop by JPJ Shah Alam headquarter the next day after dropping  a rider nearby. Heavy crowd as well and the waiting time’s 1.5-2.0 hours. Need to get it done by 9th Sep in order to get credit incentive of RM 180 from Grab. Really, when there is a will, there is a way..
